Moscow parks open summer season
On May 1, in all parks of Moscow the festive activities will take place to mark the opening of the summer season. The presentation of summer playgrounds of the parks will become the main theme of the activities.
From this momemnt in the parks summer cafes, rental places will be open as well as regular programmes (yoga, qigong, dances, etc.) will start, movies’ screening will be resumed in summer theaters, numerous festivals and concerts will begin.
Gorky Park
May 1-4
At Pushkinskaya embankment the large-scale public art project "Doors" will be staged with multimedia installation and mirror “exit” into the infinite space.
Every day from May 1 to 4, from 12:00 to 16:00, in this transitional space jugglers will perform. Visitors can learn themselves the art of juggling, too.
On the waterfront the field hammocks will appear.
On "Big mass field" the first spring picnic will take place: one may obtain quilts in the park as well as games and picnic sets in cafes.
On a wooden dance floor from May 1 dance classes and children's discos will be held.
At the balustrade, from 14:00 to 14:30, the demonstration performance of freestyle slalom skating will be shown.
On May 1, at 10:00, everyone can take part in the race on longboards with professionals.
In open-work summer-house, from 10:00 to 22:00, the piecies of music from the collection of
"Melody" record firm will sound.
Each Friday and Saturday, from 19:00 to 22:00, a pianist will play a white piano.
By the Summer house of Count Orlov every day, from May 1 to 4, from 13:00 to 15:00, flutist will perform.
From May to August at the territory of the nature reserve "Sparrow Hills" Landscape School will function.
Muzeon
May 1-2, 14:00-20:00
This year Muzeon will repeat the Festival of marching bands that was successfully held in the park last year.
The festival will introduce visitors to brass virtuosos of Moscow and stars of brass from all over the world.
Together with Muzeon the festival is thought up by the creative association "Call Orchestra!".
Prior to the first screening in summer theater the orchestra play covers of soundtracks from famous movies. At the end of the session the guests will be presented by silent disco: the music will sound not from speakers but in headphones.
Sokolniki
May 1-4, 12:00-20:00
In Sokolniki park within the frames of the traditional event “The First of May - New Style” the interactive festival Velo & Segway Show will be organized.
At the interactive site "Velo-voobrazharium" (Velo imagination) one may test the bicycles with unusual control.
At the main concert site of Fili Park the thematic programmes "Children's World", "The history of our park", "Live brightly" will take place.
